"Put to Bed" Ad – Gearco
Simple one-panel print ad using double entendre for reservations
🎯 Case Study: “Put to Bed” – Display Ad Campaign
Client: Hotelgears
Role: Concept Development, Copywriting, Visual Direction, Layout Execution
🧠 Objective
To introduce Hotelgears’ cloud-based property management system with a message that disarms skepticism and builds confidence. The goal was to capture the attention of hotel owners and operators by showcasing reliability in a lighthearted, emotionally reassuring way.
🎨 Concept & Creative Approach
This ad hinged on a clever dual meaning of the phrase “put to bed” — referencing both hotel bookings and the peace of mind our product offers.
Visual Technique:
A stock photo of a professional resting in bed (tie loosened, laptop nearby) reinforced the theme of restfulness and trust. Layout followed a classic Z-pattern for visual engagement:
-
Bold headline in the top-right
-
Supporting tagline along the bottom
-
Logo and URL neatly placed in the lower-right corner
Tone:
Confident, calm, and slightly playful — the message says: “You’re in good hands.” Typography remained minimal to let the concept and image do the storytelling.
💬 Headline/Tagline
Headline: “We’ll put to bed any reservations you might have.”
A clever play on both guest bookings and decision-making hesitation
